My dear brothers and sisters, we pray today in a spirit of humility and repentance.
We ask that Our Lord Jesus Christ, in his grace, make this garden a sacred space — a sanctuary where those who are hurting may find healing and reconciliation.
In the Church we are joined together in a spiritual bond, made one in Jesus Christ, and united in a beautiful solidarity of charity.
St. Paul said that when one member of the Church suffers, we all suffer. And we are called to help one another, to bear another’s burdens.
This garden reflects our love for our brothers and sisters who have been hurt. It represents our commitment to help them in their sufferings, to bear their burdens with them. This garden is a promise to our brothers and sisters: We will never forget, and you are never alone; we go with you, always.
We pray that in the silent beauty of this garden, many may come to hear God’s voice, to know his love and compassion, and his longing to comfort them, to strengthen them, and to make them whole again.
