THE MISSION OF GUADALUPE

Welcome Guadalupanos!

On this page we celebrate our devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe and her maternal love for us.

On August 5, 2012, we held a special festival in her honor at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, co-hosted by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the Knights of Columbus. We remember that special day on this page. Here you will find photos of the event, and my reflections from the celebration, along with the address delivered by Carl Anderson, Supreme Knight of the Knights of Columbus.

Our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI reminds us that Our Lady of Guadalupe is “the Star of both the original and the new evangelization … the continental mission which is now taking place across these noble lands” of the Americas.

Our world needs new witnesses to Jesus Christ! And we are the ones who are called to carry the message of Our Lady of Guadalupe to our world today. We are called to help Jesus Christ find a new place in the hearts of our neighbors.

So I pray that Our Lady of Guadalupe will move our hearts to a new conversion. To a deeper love for her Divine Son, Jesus Christ. To a new commitment to our responsibility for the continental mission of his Catholic Church.

And may Holy Mary of Guadalupe, through her maternal inspiration and intercession, watch over all our families and help us all to be better instruments of God’s love so that everyone in our world may come to know him and to love him.
